love this well have been drinking from it for years now. Lovely water – but would love to hear any information on the water.

  2. Wendy Osterman says:

It now seems to have been locked for the last couple of months

  3. dmc says:

the spring does have a lock on the gate ,this is so that any visitor haas to enquire at the farm house,so the owners can advise that the visitors park safely ,as there have been a couple of accidents due to people parking right next to the source on th main road making it very hazzardous, but people are still welcome to take the water..

  4. Ouched says:

Be very careful and do not park on the private to the well. The owner of the driveway is not friendly and threatened to report me to the police for stopping there. He instructed me to leave, but as I did, he leaned into the car window grabbing the bottom to photograph me, then stood in front of the car and refused to move until he’d photographed my numberplate. Say nothing to him and do not swear even mildly or he will also threaten to report you for verbal abuse.

There is a parking layby for 3 cars on the opposite side of the road 10 yards away. As the private drive is often blocked by people using the well I’m not surprised the owners get fed up of rude people stopping them gaining acess or to leave their own property. So you don’t need to be careful, just have some basic manners yourself.

I’ve always found the owner to be very courteous and NOT unfriendly at all ….

Hi, I’m really interested in collecting natural spring water and this seems to be the nearest spring to me…does anyone know about the purity of the water, ie do I need to put it through a filter before drinking??

    • charlotta martinus says:

we have been drinking it for 7 yeats on a daily basis and never filtered it – we find it so fresh and lovely

      • Leanne tandy says:

Is it still locked on a daily basis?

      • Carl says:

If searching, find the littlewell hotel, and use the layby on the otherside of the road. Very easy access, clean looking water.

      • Lewis says:

Hi Charlotta, just wondering whether you are still collecting the spring water in Coxley? Other than yesterday, I’ve only collected water from there once before. I noticed yesterday that the little sign on the gate about public use had been removed which made me wonder whether it was still safe for consumption. Do you know why the sign is no longer there and whether it is still safe to drink? Thanks a lot for your help!

  6. Emily says:

Hi all, is anyone here still collecting from the Coxley spring? I collected 25 litres the other day, but was a little concerned as the sign had been removed and didn’t see anyone else collecting (usually see people every time I pass the spring). I haven’t started drinking it yet and would like to know if anyone has any information regarding why the sign was removed. Thanks!
