A beautiful clear spring holy well with all year round clean spring water. Park at the visitor’s car park beside the R295 just over 1 km east of Keash village. Then walk up the country lane to the well’s entry gate. Sitting and bubbling below an ancient ash tree. You expect the nymphs and fae will greet you there 🙂

My family name is Breheny and the farm where my grandfather Bernard Kane Breheny was born is a short distance from the well. My understanding it that the well is on property that was originally part of the Breheny farm.

We visited the farm and well on June 12th 2018 and drank from the well.

The legend we were told is that St Patrick was visiting the nearby Abbey (the ruins can be seen today) and picked up a stone. St Patrick said that where ever the stone landed, a well would spring up and would never go dry. He then through the stone and it it landed where the well is today.
