Description

This is a little know water source, just outside Hamilton, Ontario. Unfortunately, I don’t have a lot of info about this spring, but it obvious that this has been in use for a long, long time. I was told that back in the 80’s this spring had high nitrate levels but I don’t have any current info. For what it’s worth, many of the locals in the area use it daily & have nothing but good things to say about this spring.

Would like to know if this water has been tested or not. I go to Ancaster but if this is better I would like to try

Me and a coworker stopped by this spring and took a sample last week. The results came back as 12 Total Coliform & zero E.Coli so there is some indication that there is significant bacterial contamination. I have not yet tested nitrates or anything else.

Went to this water source a few days ago (August 22, 2014) and there is a city sign attached to the rock trough that the spring spills into saying “Do not drink this water.” The sign looked a bit wear and tear, so I’m assuming it’s been there for a few years. And the image on the sign specified the tap/spring water, not the water in the trough.
I didn’t get it tested though, so it would still be a good idea to do that before writing this spring off.

I visited this spring in Sept 2014 and had the water tested – it came back with a significant evidence of bacterial contamination, may be unsafe to drink (total coliform >5, E. coli = 0)

      Hi all,

I just went to this spring today. I met a nice older lady there which happens to be the owner of the land. She told me that about a month ago the G-man came and took away the pipe and closed the spring.

  7. Taylor says:

Unfortunately, I was unable to locate the spring. Figured it has been shut down as the location has a “Do not drink the water” sign with a demolished cement base. If it has been relocated would love to know where but as far as I know this spring is no longer available.

  8. Olga says:

This spring not exist anymore 🙁 We were there on June 2018, everything was gone, no pipe, no information.
