Small metal spout coming out of the ground. Nothing extravagant. The water is quite sulfourous, and has a slightly murky colour. I have had the water tested for contamination about a year ago with negative results. Solid spring that has been serving the community for over 25 years.

So would this water be considered good to drink, or bad? I live close by and hate to buy bottled water, so I used a brita filter… that removes all of the good minerals along with the bad ones… so fresh spring water would be a preferred choice. However, your description of this water being murky in color and quite sulfourous doesn't sound too appealing.

    tastes fine to me!

I visited this water source on March 4, 2012.  Temp 6.9C  pH 6.6  TDS 229
Took a water sample & tested ZERO for both E.Coli & Total Coliform

There is a sign up at the spring warning that it is not-potable by the Town of Mount Albert. May turn many people away. How do you go about testing the water personally for potability?

  5. Jen says:

Has anyone been drinking this water recently? I know it was tested in March, 2012. Could there be big changes since then?

  6. Erin says:

Hi, the sign that it’s unsafe for drinking is still there. But apparently people drink from it.

  7. Niko says:

Got 5 gallons worth, been drinking it for 2 days now, saw the sign…but its probably just there so no one is responsible, i feel fine!

Cool im gonna check this out. I found this spring on last year and went to it but there was nothing there, maybe i went to the wrong spot but i was sure i went to the right intersection area.

But yea, so the waters free of bad stuff but its murky in colour? hmm

has anyone tested this water this year 2015? i am not in the area but am considering calling environmental services to see if they can test it but i am worried that they will tell us just not to drink from it. can anyone do an independent test? i am 45 minutes away and am considering setting up a system to store 2 weeks of water for 2 people in glass bottles but i want to make sure that it is safe first. I suffer from severe endometriosis and i need to get water that doesn’t have all the crap in it to start making me better. anyone who can help me i would owe you huge. i am in the richmond hill area – if you want company to go test it let me know.

I got water from here a couple years ago, it was fine only yes very sulfurious. it made my eyes feel dry and burny like i couldnt look at someone without having to blink, maybe just have to get used to it.
