constructed a ferry crossing the Saskatchewan government has since built a steel bridge over the area and painted it Blue.

Used by Gabriel Dumont and Louis Riel – Louis and Clark drank from here also this is a sacred spring – the Canadian Government tried to destroy it by building a road over it but nature prevailed and the spring went under the road. The water is Cold and refreshing in the Hot summer days

Does anyone know how to locate this spring? The get directions option doesn’t seem to work and this is the only spring close for anyone in saskatchewan.

  2. Jerp says:

If you use the slider in the bottom left corner (near the zoom tools) you can switch from satellite to map view, and get a better idea. It’s near fort carlton.

My grandfather was a homesteader at Gabriel’s. The family would cross the river to get the fresh spring water for drinking because they didn’t have a well on their property. They also used the lime for their garden.
