From Hwy 31 about 20 miles south of Cullman, head east on Co Rd 7 for not 100 yards. Just past the first dirt road on the right, there is a wide shoulder on left to park off road and an all-terrain path leading a short distance to small white veins of ground water. Cross one or two of these tiny creeks and notice a couple small concrete poured bubblers, first a one foot round purplish then a two foot square concrete cap on earthen water spouts, which at one time served as the bottling sources for this healing water. These sulphur springs, the pool that was once built into the creek bed before it and the hotel were together a major Alabama tourist attraction around the turn of 20th century. The water is a constantly flowing cool, clear, stinky but very clean healing water.
