Please rate this spring

Now owned and operated by the Vandalia Butler Historical Society on weekends, this spring has a spring house with sinks and faucets and has been producing lightly effervescent water for more than a century.

I grew up as a kid drinking this water.

I went here yesterday and wasn’t able to get water. I learned that this spring is ONLY accessible on the weekends during the hours of the historical society.

It is only open on the weekends from 12:00-3:00. They request a donation of a quarter per gallon honor system. It was tasty.

Wow!! I didn’t know this place still existed. We used to go get this water every weekend for my grandfather. He’s attributed this water to his longevity. He lived to be 90 plus years.

  3. I was there today and they recently had this water tested. The hours are 9-3 on Saturdays and 12-3 Sundays. It is a very good taste with the alkaline definitely causing an after taste.

I drive 40 min for water, I appreciate the clean water. I am so disappointed this time to find the spring closed at 2:30 on Sunday. I have not run into this problem before. Now I have a difficult decision – feel sick all week and get water next week or go to chiropractor and waste the $$ because hauling water messes up my adjustment……..so sad????
