The artesian well is located in Atlantic County Parks and Recreation’s park in Estell Manor, NJ. The park’s address is 109 State Highway 50, Mays Landing, NJ 08330 but the city is actually Estell Manor. The well is not accessed through the main entrance at 109 State Highway 50. Access to the well is located about 1 mile north of the main entrance. There is a small sign that says “Atlantic County Parks” and the street sign says “Artesian Well Road.” After turning off of Rt 50 onto Artesial Well Road you will drive until you come to the river – about 1 mile. If you call the county and ask about the well they will tell you that it is not for human consumption. The first time I was there collecting water I met a couple in their 70’s or 80’s who told me they have been drinking the water for years and they looked healthy! The well is close to 200 feet deep and is always flowing under pressure.

Just filled up my water bottle with that spring. It’s cool and crisp. The water is constantly flowing into a basin. The sign posted about not for human consumption might be so that the park isn’t liable if someone gets sick from drinking it. I took the gamble.

What days and times is best to go? I never been to this park and don’t want any trouble

I have drank from multiple springs in the North-East U.S. that I have found on this website. I recently filled up at this one in beautiful South NJ. This is one of the better maintained springs I have seen. Its easy to find at the end of Artesian Well Rd. inside Eastell Manor County Park just off Rte 50. Its also a nice place to kayak, ride bikes, and hike.

The water tastes of minerals more than others I’ve tried. Very slightly sulfuric. Tastes good.

There was an older woman in great shape filling up also, she told me she has been drinking from the spring as long as she can remember and claims, “It’s the best water.”
