Description:
Enjoy a nice cool drink before and after you visit the beautiful park that is also located there.
This artesian water source was found when the village of Winslow dug a new well. Now the excess water flows out of the supply building through pipes into a nearby creek. A spigot has been installed so that anyone can visit and fill as many containers as they want. The water is tested twice each month.

Found this site quite by accident driving country roads in 2001 through IL – it was the summer, and the Paradise Cove park was lovely despite the mosquitoes. The old fresh spring water was the best I had ever tasted. I know of a few other springs but this one is my favorite. Depending on which way you drive through town, the sign marking the spring is easy to miss. I appreciate the historical / informational marker that tells about the spring and the community's stringent water quality testing for purity.

Cold,&sweetwater!!! Someone once told me water is tastless ! maybee ! But minerals in this spring are very tasly ! Thankyou Winslow ! Who were the indigenous tribes who frequented area befor white settlement? Steven Crane
Does anyone know what native american tribes inhabited this area befor and after White settlement ! Any interaction with the Frence courier du bois ? Any intermarriage of these groups ? The Pecatonica and yellowcreek must have played a role to the transportation of all living there ! Met a Clammer who worked the Pec for shells 70 years befor ! Mr Stanley Hayes of Mc connel
This location is a little hard to find. You need to turn to the west from the main road through town just before or after the creek. From the north side of the creek you will have to walk across the covered bridge. If you pull through the BP driveway you will see the covered bridge on your left.

Thank you, my wife and I with one of our young daughters came to try your water. It’s a nice looking small town and we plan on returning to not only get water but spent some money in your town to show our appreciation. Take care & God bless.
We just visited Winslow and went to try the water is very good only problem to far from us.
I did like also the town ,small but well kept .
Can I get a complete analysis of the water from the township? Was wondering what types of ions and how much of each (calcium, sodium, ect… In ppm).
We just got back from this place this evening. It was our first time out there, so for anyone looking for something a little more solid as far as directions go, here’s what I figured out on my own. It’s right behind Grace Bible Church. But to get into it, you’ll see a sign that reads “Paradise Cove” and an arrow pointing towards the right direction. Basically if you are directly infront of the building, you take that small tiny road to the left of Grace Bible Church and take that down to the Well. Just a heads up, if you took a turn and see a cemetery on your right hand side, then you turned on the actual street and not that little drive way type road directly to the left of Grace Bible Church. We went in the evening when it was dark (it got dark as we drove) and the water continues to run, which is really nice. It’s also nice that they check the quality of the water twice a month. My advice though is be careful, since the area you stand on to gather the water can be a tad slippery. 12/28/2011
I have been there numerous times, as my parents relied on this well for their drinking water, and when I visited, I helped with the task of filling the jugs and taking them back. It is cool and refreshing, as well as a beautiful spot to enjoy the gift of nature!
Very nice Rosemary ! My 10 year old nephew Morgan and i discovered this sweet cool water one day after following the wind turbins across western illinois near mc connel ill ! A friend of mine used to be a clammer- fisherman in the 30-50s Mr Stanley Hayes :} A VERY NICE Boyscout leader at apple river camp ! Thank you Stanley for being my Friend !
Wonderfully refreshing in 100+ degree heat when we were bicycling from Galena to Monroe, WI – drank lots of cold water and poured even more all over us to cool down!
Made another trip to the well today. Came with a friend and got water. We found that the water really works well for brewing Pale Ales. It give it a nice crisp clean taste to the beer. My friend entered his beer in a competition and took a second place win with his beer.
Visited today and made a video to give people a visual: http://youtu.be/7EZPF6RuZW4
Very nice location, met someone who drove 2.5 hours with the family. I live 20 miles outside of Madison, WI and this location is actually the closest reliable source so I will be back. Beautiful pond, spring fed waterfall, creek and park.
Yes, this is a great Artesian well. There used to be another great one on top of Blue Mound, but they must have capped it off when it became a state park. There is also a spring you can get water from at Rock Springs, WI just past North Freedom and Baraboo.
A great find – pure, cold, refreshing water, as well as a well-kept park area. Thank you, Winslow!
Hi! So I am interested in visiting this site but talking with my uncle about drinking spring water, he is extremely adamant that all spring water is contaminated and cannot be drank. I did a little research on it and didn’t find anything concrete. Only speculation and hesitation. I’m on a quest to become healthier and find more environmentally friendly ways to live. When was the last time someone was at this location? How was it?
Thank you, Andrew
