Thank you for posting this beautiful spring. And, thank you to those who came before us. Those who saw the wisdom in the water and treated it with the respect it deserved.
For those who like numbers – pH of 6.33, 51 F, TDS of 59.
    Peace

I stopped by the Bond spring on my way back from central NH yesterday (2/13/2010). This spring tested out at 33 ppm. The water has good flavor but not nearly as powerful as the Cooper Spring.

  4. Elizabeth says:

Maybe I'm missing something, but what are you referring to when you say 33 ppm (33 ppm of some contaminant?)
    Thanks!

  5. NewDawn says:

Needn't be a contaminant although it could be. Simply the measured amount of mineral content (TDS = Total dissolved solids). Distilled would be around zero, my tap water is about 165, and “mineral water” must be over 400 or 450 I believe. The lowest TDS doesn't always make for the best water. Other factors include pH, how is it filtered, low temp, and a willingness to trust, etc. Hope this helps.

what a great place to cool off

Just left the this spring. It’s running very slowly, takes 15 minutes or more to fill a 5 gallon bottle. Looks like it may need repair.

  8. FrankGiglio says:

Bond Mtn Spring has just about stopped running. If you are a regular visitor of this spring, i would suggest going elsewhere. Water is running very slowly, and lacks the cold temperature it once had. Energetically I no longer feel good about drinking this water. Maine has suffered a major lack of rain this summer and it may be effecting the flow.

  9. Gargoyleproductionsofmaine says:

The Bond Mountain is now just a trickle. It has been getting slower and slower and now this as of 10.28.10

If you are interested in the GPS numbers of the Bond Spring there they are
( N 43″ 37″ 47.9 by W 070″ 53′ 46.8 ). If you are in the area and you are looking for another spring check out the Nightshade Spring in Parsonsfield roughtly 10 miles away, and it is flowing at a decent rate.

  12. Gargoyleproductionsofmaine says:

Was just at Bond Spring (12-21-10) and it is flowing at a rapid clip. Filled a 5 gallon carboy in about 45 seconds.

  13. gniwyhtomit says:

Hello all. I visited Bond Spring today; June 18, 2011 and was able to fill a quart jug in about two seconds.

  14. Timothy Wing says:

I visited the Spring in Mid-July and the water was flowing very fast. I had no problem fulling about ten gallons in a few minutes.

I visited the spring on September 30, two days after Hurricane Irene rolled through and the spring was a trickle. Odd. I would have thought all that rain would have upped the flow quite a bit.

I look forward to visiting the Spring again at the end of September. The drive should be spectacular.

  15. Ali Schueler says:

Bond Mountain Spring tends to run much more slowly during the Summer time for the last couple of years due to drought in Maine.  It is usually just the month of August that it runs the slowest, where it takes 5 minutes or more to fill a 6-Gallon Car Boy.  However, the rest of the year the spring is gushing with sweet, fresh spring water that hydrates unlike any other water!

  16. My fiancée and I were very excited when we found this spring. There was an old timer filling before me and he told me he’s been coming for 25 years! The water was flowing very fast and filled up 6 quart bottles in under a minute.

  17. D.G.C Dickson says:

Fresh and flowing as of 8/7/2014. Tastes great too

  18. Rob says:

does anyone know of a spring close to portland? im tired of drinking the city water

  19. Shaun says:

Glad i found this site.. and this spring! I can’t wait to check it out next weekend. does anyone know if it still flows in the winter?

  20. Christopher says:

Rob, the spring is a 50 minute drive from Portland.

  21. Michael says:

As of 10.23.2016 when I went to the spring, and discovered the water was not flowing. I had been there 3 weeks before and it was just a dribble. So I don’t know what has happened. The other one that is about 15 miles away is in the same condition.

  22. Gary says:

Still just a dribble. My guess is the drought coupled with the mild winter last year..

  23. Skip Carr says:

    Hello,
am wondering if anyone has tested the water from Bond Mountain Spring?

    • Vicky says:

we have not tested it but have filled our water bottles there three times in the past year (and on our way there again now). Locals know about it, use it, and I have no doubts about it (we have been using Massachusetts springs for the past 8? 10? years but when in the area, we fill up at this one.) Last month it was flowing robustly.

    • R . King says:

      Hi Skip ,
I was driving by this spring today and it is flowing strong . We did get a couple inches of rain yesterday .
By the way Skip are you a Plumber ?
There was an older gentleman collecting water at the spring today . He claims to been drinking the water for a couple years .
It nice and cold and clear , but I think I would have it tested .

  24. Justin king says:

Flowing great this winter with all the snow. Slowed a bit during the summer draught but still enough to fill a 3 gallon carboy in a minute or two. Busy in the summer with folks up for camp. My wife and I use this spring for all our drinking, cooking and medicine making all year
