One of the few perennially-flowing springs in the Sandias. The spring is not accessible by vehicle. The closest parking spot is on FR299 (Forest Road) / Cole Springs Road north of Cedar Crest at the bottom of the Cañoncito Trail. (from I-40, go 3.5 miles north on NM-14 to Cole Springs Road) The spring is about 100 feet east on the Cañoncito Trail from the point where it intersects with the Faulty Trail. No pipe, water must be collected from the pool. Not tested, to my knowledge.

  1. karen carpenter says:

is there a way to have water mailed to me? or do I have to go in person myself? and are there this spring water sold in stores?

  2. Ed says:

Is this spring accessible from a Bike trail?

  3. Chase Kolozsy says:

I was unable to access Cañoncito Trail from Cole Springs Road. There was a road block with a “NO TRESPASSING” sign with a statement saying, “No Trail Access”.

The next time I attempt to go to this spring I will access it through Faulty Trail, but this adds additional miles onto the trip.
