The spring comes out of a hose with a faucet that is in front of the coughlin big white house. There is a sign marking the spring. Why there is a hose and faucet is because the spring eye is a mile up the mountain.

The finest water in the Sierra’s. Started drinking it in 1968 when my family bought property two miles from there.

    Has this water been tested?

  3. Kim says:

Can it really still be considered a spring if it’s going through a mile of rubber hose, and closed off? It doesn’t run freely. It is literally a black hose hanging over a fence in front of the aforementioned home.

I prefer the Bitney Spring which is very nearby this one. It’s delicious, and it’s been capped for its protection some years back but gushes freely through pipes coming out of a mason work encasement. It has been tested a while back, and it’s very good water.

  4. Jessica says:

Does anyone know why this spring hose is no longer in front of the Coughlin house? We went up there a few months ago and the hose is gone:(.

  5. Stephanie says:

Went to the spring today and talked to the owners, very sweet people, who told us the spring had dried up. Said there was one miles up the road but discouraged us from making the drive as it was “miles up a rocky mountain road, no fun.” That’s the cali drought for y’all, another one bites the dust.

  6. Neil says:

The pipe broke bringing the water from the mine. So no more spring water at this site until it is fixed which may not happen.

  7. Nicole Ladd says:

Since all the rain fall, has anyone returned to this Spring?
