A few hundred feet from where the Ellijay and Cartecay Rivers join to form the Coosawattee is a spring accessible to the public!

Located a few hundred feet from the Southeast intersection of Hwy 76 and Old Hwy 5, across the bridge from the Dairy Queen is a strip of parks, ballfields, walking paths and covered picnic areas along the riverbank.
Coming south out of Ellijay on Old 5, go past the Dairy Queen and through the traffic light at Hwy 76. A few hundred feet on the left is a turn in.
turn left and then turn left again. The spring is on the right, in a depressed stone semi-circle half wall between the parking lot and the river bank. You can see the Dairy Queen sign across the bridge at Hwy 76.
