Elven Mystery Spring, Stowe, Vermont
Description:
This spring is stagnant, bubbling up and pouring over the edge of the rocks enclosing it. It is off to the side of the road, not easily noticeable. It is at the bottom of a hiking trail, off to the side of a dirt turnaround/parking lot. There are huge stones that lead up to it. Use caution approaching the spring, for it is very mossy and wet…

Directions from Nearest Address
Follow the Mountain Road in Stowe upward, passing the ski resort. Once you pass the resort, the spring will be up another five minutes or so, located on the right side of the road. Look for a turnaround/dirt parking lot. There are a few of them on the road, and it is the second or third one after the resort on the right.

Road closed till May so you have to walk for about 20 minutes till you see two yellow signs on the right side of the road, spring is on the right. Ph tested 6.7, TDS=38. Instruments were calibrated just before going the actual ph might be higher like around 7.0-7.1 but because of the different ph calibrations 7.0 and 4.0 there is no true ph. Water is great so far no diarrhea, the walk is a bit of a pain because the road was closed and there's snow on the ground. 03/20/2010 update.

I went up and collected a couple gallons today. My TDS meter reads 19. Tastes great. Like Timo’s post, it is about 20-25 minutes walk up from the road block, but it’s beautiful and empty up there (except a few cross-country skiers).
Is this Spring still accessible? I think I’m gonna check it out. I hope I can find it.
Been drinking this water every day for 6 months now. Feel fantastic. I started in the winter time, and now that all the snow has melted, I was somewhat worried about how much snowmelt would get into it. But TDS reading is the same now as it was 6 months ago: about 20.
We tried to find this spring a few weeks ago and kept getting turned around. I’m aware that it isn’t that easily noticeable from the road, but we couldn’t find the hiking trail. We stopped by one of the resorts for directions and they led us to the facilities area for the ski resort. Any further directions or landmarks would be very helpful. Would love to find this spring!
MCAllanen do you still get spring water here? Was wondering if I could contact you for further directions and help finding it. My email is mullins_morgan@yahoo.com
