Set in the beautiful Willamette National Forest, Deer Creek Hot Springs, also known as Bigelow, is the perfect retreat for a relaxing soak. The pool itself is big enough for roughly two to four people and feeds right off the bank of the McKenzie River.

As you take in the scenery, enjoy the natural healing remedies of the mineral waters that bubble up from the bottom of the sand / gravel. During the peak seasons you can expect temperatures right around 102 degrees, assuming there are no breaks in the rocks from the McKenzie. During the winter months in can get much cooler and to most not an ideal place for a good soak.

Clothing is optional so it is best for just adults. That doesn’t mean kids can’t go, just be prepared for nudity. Deer Creek (Bigelow) hot springs is also open year round and is considered an undeveloped pool. There are some parking areas roughly a couple hundred yards away so no hiking involved.

If considered heading over to this natural hot spring, the distance from some popular cities are:

63 miles east of Eugene
67 miles west of Bend
101 miles southeast of Salem
147 miles southeast of Portland.

Directions to Deer Creek Hot Springs

Depending on which way you are coming from, use the mile markers above driving towards Willamette National Forest until you hit Forest Road 2654. Turn left or right and cross the bridge, parking on the right to access the springs.
