Please rate this spring

Natural spring at Smithville Dam, on Smithville Road, between the roads of Plains Rd/State Street and V.F.W. Road.  There’s a large pipe down by the river below the dam.  Cold, fresh water has bubbled out of this for years!

        Hi. I’m so excited to see this spring listed here! Yes it’s legit! I grew up in Eaton Rapids and my family has been drinking from this spring for close to 60 years since we moved there. It’s an artesian well that bubbles up out of the ground non-stop for all to enjoy. The water is cold, clear, clean and delicious. There are a lot of minerals in the water there, so you’ll smell a little bit of sulfur (egg smell), but don’t let that deter you. The water is absolutely delicious.

    I just called city hall and spoke to ‘Sherry’ whom confirmed the spring is CLOSED.

    This spring definitely isn’t closed. Visited today. It’s flowing well and easily accessed.
