An email response I received from the park supervisor:

I received your email from the office and wanted to respond to your questions about Spring Grove Park. The spring is natural spring bubbling up from the ground in an area in the park that has a high water table. Unfortunately the water is not safe to drink. High nitrate levels are in the water coming from the nearby farm fields. There is no spigot connected to the spring. The ground water fills an elevated pond and then exits the pond over a small waterfall. The water then travels down a small stream meandering through the park.

I would also like to know whether this water is still undrinkable, thanks!

  3. Shui says:

I would say it is undrinkable due to the farming around.

Hello…..?? Is water still in safe to drink??

  5. I visited the park many many times with my children when they were growing up. They would catch frogs and play in the mud that was like quicksand (even lost a shoe and had to come back with a shovel) I don’t know much about springs, I just found this website but I wouldn’t drink out of it. It’s not really a “natural” location, it’s just a little touch of nature in a place that is hard to find nature. I was shocked to find it on this website because I never even knew it was a spring, it seems like such a man made place.
