There are two springs off the Signal Knob Trail. The first one flows out of a pipe coming out of the ground, off the trail (on the right, when heading up the trail), just past the locked Forest Service cabin. You’ll hear it flowing. The second one is to the left of the trail where it makes a dramatic turn to the right and heads more steeply uphill. You’ll see a cement box with a pipe coming out of it. this spring stops flowing in hot weather, but as far as I’ve seen. The first one by the cabin does not.

Directions:
Take Fort Valley Rd / Rt. 678 into the George Washington National Forest area. Make a right into the Signal Knob Parking lot. Park on the right side of the lot, and you’ll see the Signal Knob trail. Cross over the small wooden bridge and continue up the trail. The first spring is by the forest service cabin, and the second spring is further up the trail on the left, and is hard to miss.
