Spring on Olympia’s West Side. Site of an estuary, a small salmon run, and good birding. It is not publicly accessible by car, but you can just walk around the fence. I believe it was obtained by the state government and secured (ha) in case of crisis.

It has been reported that you can no longer access this spring and it’s been fenced off, but please report if you have an updated location to a tap.

Just drove over there after seeing it listed on your website. Six foot fence topped with a single line of barbed wire. Looks like it may be a source for municipal water? Doesn’t look like the city wants people to go there. But perhaps the fence is just there to protect the equipment located there. I couldn’t find a place to park in order to explore the area. Could someone who knows more about this site elaborate?

I went there Feb 1, 2018. I walked to the back of the fence (which had “no Tresspassing ” signs all over it, and saw where water may have been coming out from under the chainlink and barbedwire, high security fence, but there was no water flowing. So depressing to see the govt taking control of our water like this. There was a blue sign about 100 feet into the woods with a tube but there was no water coming from there either.

This area is owned by the city and is not accessible. It’s completely fenced with no trespassing signs now.

It didn’t appear that there was an easy way around the tall fence other than climbing it; many “No Trespassing” signs on fence. I wouldn’t bother…
