If you reach the Adam Ramsay Hotel in Carlops village you have gone a wee bit too far. As you approach Carlops heading south, look to your right, the fountain is set into a historical stone dyke marked ‘Gods Gift’ and dated ‘1860’.

    This water is lovely. The flow output is sometimes fast sometimes slow. But it’s worth it.

    The current winter flow rate (Nov/Dec 2012/Jan2013) has been slow taking 4.5mins to fill 5 litres. Spring-Autumn 2012 it was much faster. Not sure if this is a season variation, it certainly wasn’t from lack of rain this year. I’ll keep note of any changes and report back.
