Has anyone tested this water or been out there and give more specific directions?
I know we used to stop when we were kids and on our way to visit relatives in Arkansas and our dad would let us drink the water, and it was so good and cold. But I thought here lately you couldn’t drink from it anymore. In fact there is a sign there telling people not to drink from it. 🙁 In fact we lived there shortly after moving from Joplin last May, and I told my kids about it and took them over to it, and there was that sign. I was so disappointed. But, I did wash my hair in it. It was awesome. 😉
I was just there today (1/22/14) and there was not a sign saying not to drink the water. I tooks some home. Thinkiing of having it tested. If I do I’ll post results.
did you have it tested?
I’m new to Oklahoma. I was able to follow the directions to the park perfectly. The spring is right in the middle and hard to miss! The water was flowing fast and tastes great.
I live in Tulsa. I am looking for the closest spring that has high minerals and low to no contaminants. I will drive as far as I need to go to get it. Please help!
Great water! Tested regularly, no charge but donations accepted.

December 2016: the Locust Grove Commerce Dept. 918-479-5354 has never had it tested; did not know of 2012 sign not to drink it. The workers drink it all summer. When I did a Google aerial map it shows a very large farm next to it … doubt that it’s organic. Water tastes great but I still run it through my non-electric Berkey Filter 2b safe.
I was a little disappointed once I got to this spring ? I drove over 2 hours away and when I got there there was a whole bunch of dirty toilet paper all around the spring. The last comment made makes me a bit worried on the quality of the water. I still collected some and will be testing it. I will post my results!
Curious on your results! Any news to share?
What were the results?
Have you posted results? I’m moving to southeast Kansas, and to find a closer spring.
