Easy access right off the road, a place to pull one car in. 100 yards before the Nada Tunnel. No signs, just a pipe hewed into the rock <10 ft. from the spring coming out of mountain. Locals say the state of KY tests routinely and many drink routinely from Nada Spring.

I took a day trip into the gorge and stopped by this spring. The water is crystal clear and refreshing. Extremely clean with no off-putting taste whatsoever. This is the real deal– unprocessed raw water that is alive and fresh. Anyone going to the gorge should make a point to get to this spring to fill up!

This is some very tasty spring water! I have fond memories of rock climbing in the Red River Gorge and stopping to quench our thirst on a hot and humid August day on the cold water flowing freely from the pipe. This spot is half-jokingly referred to as the Nada Car Wash, as some of the locals have been known to wash their cars there occasionally. The Gorge is an area of great natural beauty, although sadly this graveled pull-off is often littered with jugs and other refuse. However, the water is excellent. Geologically, the Red River Gorge is loose sandstone with iron deposits. The sandstone may filter the water and the iron may contribute to the mineral content of the water, which tastes great.

I used to drink from this spring years ago. I went there about a month ago and the water appeared murky with a slight yellow tint. Had a sharp feel in the back of my throat and my stomach felt strange directly after drinking it. I don;t trust this water anymore which sucks since it’s much closer than Climax.

  7. Ruth Linkous says:

    My Greatgrandmother Nancy Campbell
Love across from the spring. Even thou we lived in Ohio we loaded up empty gal. Container to bring back spring water. My grandfather brother Amos had his funeral up a hill near by
